So what have you been doing?

Time to play catch up! Let's see, what have I been up to? Not much, actually. I work at Panera Bread now, as an all around associate; dining room detail, cashier, backer, whatever is needed. I've been there since last September and over all it's not bad. There's some issues with a certain ASM, but I'm hoping we'll work it out for the best of the whole place.

chillas and I have another cat. I rescued her in the parking lot of our last apartment just over two years ago. She's a tiny little black thing, about the size of a 6-8 month old kitten. Her name is Pyewacket but we call her Itty Bitty because of her size.

Nicholas is 9 years old now, and in 3rd grade. His teacher says that he's doing wonderfully in school and that he's a joy to have in class. He visits with chillas and I once a month for the weekend, plus various holidays. He has a cat of his own, named Sprite, that I rescued in his home town at a gas station. She was just a tiny 6 week old kitten that someone pulled out of their engine. Stupidly I offered to take her, and she and Nicholas bonded on the ride home. They're best buddies now, like nothing else I have ever seen.

There really isn't anything else exciting. I haven't done a play in almost 2 years, so I have a horrid feeling I may be done with them. Ah well, I sing a lot in the car so that helps some.

The holidays are coming up, and my SIL and BIL and they're new baby boy will be here for that. Nicholas will be with us from the 26th-1st so we'll get two Christmases!

Oh there you are!

I had forgotten all about this blog. No, I have nothing interesting to say at the moment, but maybe I will later, now that I found it again.

BNL's lyrics

I love the Barenaked Ladies. They are the most awesome band ever. Their lyrics really catch me, especially certain ones, so I thought I would write some down. I'm sure this will wind up being multiple entries over time, since there's so many cool songs. Sad, insightful, hopeful, giddy and downright depressing, but all wonderful.

And now, some of my favorites...

"Vampires will have to think of some other method cuz without their canines how will they suck?" ~ 7 8 9

"Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight. Got to kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight." ~Lovers in a Dangerous Time

"In the space between sleep and sleeplessness we redress all our wounds. If we replace all this hopeless hopelessness...then we can rest." ~Half a Heart

"Anyone with half a heart would let me drown. Anyone with half a heart would pull me down. Anyone with half a heart would let me fall. Anyone with half a heart won't care at all. Anyone with half a heart would help me out before they let the other half find out. But if they could see how far I've let you down, anyone with half a heart would let me drown." ~ Half a Heart
